FareStart

People in poverty often face compounding barriers to getting and keeping a job. FareStart helps people overcome these barriers by teaching them the life and work skills they need to succeed in the food service industry. More than 90 percent of FareStart graduates land good jobs after completing their job training program.

The Gates Foundation has been a longtime partner to the organization, with our most recent grant supporting expansion of a new Foodservice Apprenticeship Program, a paid job-training program that also includes resume and interview skills and career mentoring. We are also supporting a capital campaign to help double the number of people served each year by FareStart.
