Discipline Disparities and Practices in South Seattle and South King County
Eliminating structural barriers to educational attainment is a critical goal of the Road Map Project. This data brief examines racial disparities using likelihood models for exclusionary discipline, and finds that coding alignment is a barrier to helping us understand what’s happening in schools. Suspensions and expulsions in the Road Map Project region have declined since 2010, but students of color are still more likely to receive exclusionary discipline.
