Amy Carter
Director, Community Engagement
Amy Carter is the Director of Community Engagement. In this role Amy works to build thriving, diverse, and equitable communities in the greater Seattle region. Through partnerships with local organizations, Amy and her team focus on investments aligned with the priorities and interests of the foundation and the Gates family, which has lived in Seattle for generations. Amy has worked at the foundation for over 20 years, holding a variety of positions in Global Health, the US Program, and the Executive Office. Prior professional experience includes the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation; PATH, Planned Parenthood Federation of America; and the Echoing Green Foundation. Amy has a BA from Mount Holyoke College and an MPH from Columbia University.
